Thin film solar panels are one of the newest forms of solar technology. They work by printing semiconductor material onto metal or plastic, which results in smaller, more flexible panels compared to crystalline. They are also more affordable, though they can't compete with crystalline's efficiency. They are particularly suited for hot climates or for low light or shade applications.
